Sarkozy to stay EU head and handle it to Spain's Zapatero?

Thanks shampoo - this is BREAKING NEWS!
"The French president sees himself extending his EU presidency role until 2010 as leader of an informal "economic government" of the euro area...Then, in 2010, Spain would be able to take over from Sarkozy, combining the two roles of EU and eurozone president. In the meantime, Sarkozy hopes to impose his economic vision on the rest of the bloc..." LINK

Don't forget that Spain is also scheduled to hold the 6 mo. WEU presidency come 1/1/10 (Daniel 11:23b certainly comes to mind, considering that Pres. Sarkozy is such a great proponenet of consolidating national militaries under the "EU umbrella").

P.S. The EU presidency is already designed to work somewhat in trio, with one strong presidency followed by two weak, followed by a strong, followed by two weak, etc.

How does the Lisbon Treaty fall into this mix Farmer?

Also, can you speak to what is so special about one of your Green MEP's - Cem Ozdemir?

How is it that he is rising so fast inside the EU Parliament?

Thanks -

thanks Nony, I took that into consideration, but fair enough you mention it. Mike, Lisbon treaty is not affected by this, but it could give Sarkozy another reason for introducing it in January 2009 despite the Irish No.

Cem Özdemir - yes interesting charakter.
-Turkish migration kid.
-born 1965.dec.21 in Germany and -already with 23 sitting in the national stearing committee of the Green Part of Germany.
-after a scandal he left Germany in 2002 for one year: like Solana into USA. there Transatlantic Fellow of German Marshall Fund of the United States.
-founding member of European Council on Foreign Relations (Soros money, Martti Ahtisaari, Robert Cooper,...)
-Honory president of Gay parade 2007 in Stuttgart
-EU MEP, heavily involved in interparlamentaric delegation EU-Turkey and sitting in the parlamentical EUROMED group.
-he just LOST 2x a vote which would have put his name on the voting list for the next German Parliament election(sic).
-but despite of this, he is now applying for the party leadership in November and it looks as he will make it.

P.S. ASEM represents "58% of the world's population and 60% of world trade." At the end of the following "Chair's Statement" (China), there is List of Issue-based Leadership. Spain is listed for finance:

Hi Farmer, I'm just popping in to wish you safe travels and a good conference in Glasgow next Sunday.

I'm sooo close (only 100+ miles north plus a sea crossing) but just too far to come down for the day.

May the Peace of our Lord be with you and may He be glorified as you reach out in His name.

~K~
