Moving Stars and Earth for Water. This is a space performance at the ISS by the next private space explorer, Guy Laliberte, founder and chief executive officer of Cirque du Soleil.
"I feel a lot more mesmerized than I ever thought I would be", he said after his first hours in space.
The circus is scheduled to be broadcast live around the world Friday October 9th, 8:00 PM ET (12 AM GMT) during his stay on the International Space Station. Laliberte will be hosting the event in support of the One Drop Foundation, which he founded two years ago with a pledge of $100 million to fulfill the dream “Water for all, all for water.” (Link was down since yesterday:www.onedrop.org/)
Al Gore, Cirque du Soleil, Peter Gabriel, Shakira, Salma Hayek, Bono/U2 and many others will also be taking part in this two-hour ground-breaking performance spanning six continents. "People will have access to a great poem, a great tale that will star the moon, the sun, and a drop of water," Laliberte said. LINK "I think it will also permit One Drop to position itself at the international level as a player in environmental issues." LINK
