Icelandian Death of a German Ambassador

German Ambassador Karl-Ulrich Müller
REYKJAVIK (Reuters) - Icelandic police said on Tuesday that Germany's ambassador to the country had been found dead in his car after apparently driving off the road and into a river in the north of the island. "The ambassador's death is being investigated as an accident," said Stefan Vagn Stefansson, chief superintendent of police in Saudarkrokur, a town in northern Iceland (300 km from Reykjavik). The ambassador, Karl-Ulrich Mueller, had left Reykjavik on Saturday and was heading to Akureyri in the north of Iceland, Stefansson told Reuters. He was reported missing on Monday morning, sparking a search operation by police and rescue units using helicopters. Mueller was found dead in his car in the north of the volcanic island later in the day.Police said it appeared his car had driven off the road and into a river. It was not immediately clear whether he had died from the injuries related to the crash or from other causes. He had been ambassador to Iceland since 2007. Link
Something made me think maybe there is more to it. Why does actually NO news agency report on his involvement with Space Control and Disasters (like for example the Haiti earthquake)? Did he know too much? Was he dangerous to somebody? He was a physicist and before his job as German ambassador in Island he was Head of Division for International Research and Technology Policy of the German Foreign Ministry. He had worked in the Ambassies of Moscow, New York and Wellington. So he definitly knew some things that are going on. Before two years he attended as German delegate the conference "Towards the establishment of a Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System for the Indian Ocean" Link and he also took part in the discussions of the UN Office Comittee for the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space Affairs, namely on building up "DMISCO - Space Technology and Disaster Management"(sic) the Coordinating Entity on Disaster Management at the UN)Link ,Link, Link. Head Office at UN UNOOSA is the current secretariat of the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (ICG). see also:
