A strange Apostolic Salvador Madariaga Award Ceremony

revelation 13:3: "One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

What a strange idea to compare the recovery of King of Spain with the Recovery of the EU from the Financial Crisis, to mix Catholic Rituals with European Ideals and declaring both as Christian! And right in the middle of this abominations: Javier Solana. The following texts come from official Spanish newspapers translations of the actual events at Santiago de Compostella:

"Her Royal Highness joined the traditional rite of "hugging (the image of ) Apostle Santiago" before chairing the "Salvador de Madariaga Awards", that recognizes journalists who reported on the progress of the EU.

"Not one of the pilgrims did yesterday queuing outside the Porta Santa of the cathedral to take the first step toward forgiveness of their sins and offer a hug to someone cared Apostle slinks. They even applauded.
That someone was her Royal Highness Infanta Cristina (farmer: She's also been a member of the Bilderberg group since 2001, Link), who used her visit to Santiago to preside over the delivery of the European Journalism "Salvador de Madariaga Awards" and to come forward with her respects to the Apostle. In fact, with good fortune, and the duration of the mass plotted so, that she could also enjoy the spectacle of "botafumeiro". (burned incence from the "smoke expeller")" Link1
" And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake." Revelation 8, 3-5
Apropos smoking, same day: "Doctors say Spain’s King Juan Carlos is recovering well from surgery during which a benign tumor was removed from his right lung.Hospital Clinic in Barcelona says the 72-year-old monarch’s recovery from Saturday’s operation is proceeding in a “totally satisfactory” way...The king has a history of heavy smoking, but the Royal Palace will not say if he has stopped."Link
"Her arrival came as a surprise to the hundreds of tourists and people attending Mass, who took the opportunity to say hello and ask about the health of her father the king, who that afternoon was discharged at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona."Link
"Her Royal Highness was responding to an interest that was reiterated throughout the event. The first to join the signs of joy for the recovery of the monarch was Javier Solana - president of the jury award that is named after his grandfather.
(farmer: "su abuelo" is "his grandfather", not great-unlce, so the Spanish know what the rest of the world is not to know?!)

They talk about the recovery of Juan Carlos from his surgery, which could be also interpretetd here as the recovery of Europe after the Crisis/ i.e. "wound", It is not something I read into the reports but even the text continues:)

"Solana received warm applause from the audience to express "the feelings of all present" to convey the King "our love, our affection and our respect" to the "magnificent news" that is discharged from the hospital .. "Joy of the Galician people"...The same interest shown by the President of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, who emphasized "the joy shared by all the people of Galicia for a speedy recovery of His Majesty." "Galicia" he said, "sees in this a reflection of the major strengths of our democracy."(!) Link1

"Solana in his speech alluded to the need at this time so "complicated and complex" to mobilize Europeans to get "real" by the "most beautiful idea" that was born in the last century, referring to the EU.
(farmer: He mixing Faith in Christ with Faith in Europe here??? see next paragraph:)

Felipe Sahagun also recalled that the EU has suffered a "serious crisis" at other times before, like today, so it has encouraged his fellow journalists to be "luminaries" to guide in the events and not "weapons of destruction" to help to the "catastrophic" or "neutral spectators who like Pontius Pilate are washing their hands before it happens."
(farmer: Which coming sacrifice are they talking about?)

The President of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, elaborated on the similarities in their view, have the European integration and the Camino de Santiago, both filled with stages "easy and difficult", which combines "the hardship and joy "and that now touch" effort, cooperation and sacrifice. "(sic)
"Neither Europe nor the Camino de Santiago is without solidarity," he proclaimed Núñez Feijoo, who recalled that the EU is "step by step, with complex arrangements, but of which," together, we grow stronger...The President of the APE, Carcedo Diego, thanked the presence of the Princess Infanta Cristina, and praised Javier Solana as "the person who has contributed to the European project."
"While inside the church lector Canon Fernández Lago celebrating mass in a crowded church, the procession of officers was introduced at the Cathedral so that the Infanta embrace the Apostle. Xacobeo the ritual(farmer: see end of post for more info here), the first representative of the Royal Family to visit Santiago coinciding with the Holy Year 2010 had the opportunity to see the botafumeiro. Then the youngest daughter of Reyes crossed the altar to go to the front of Obradoiro. Before leaving the basilica, the dean addressed to the appropriate explanations about the work that is undertaken at the Portico de la Gloria. As happened in the time of entry, the spontaneous applause accompanied the smiling and affable Duchess of Palma departure. (farmer: So this was during the mess and she left for the Award) After hes brief visit to the Cathedral she traveled to the Hotel Monumento San Franscisco to preside over the delivery of the XVI European Journalism Awards Salvador de Madariaga."
"La Infanta Cristina dice que Santiago es un símbolo del europeísmo" Link5

"The name Santiago goes back to the Apostle James (Saint James = Santiago) who went to this most north-western part of Spain, called by the Romans"Finis Terrae", "end of the world", to preach and convert people to Christianity.

After returning to Palestine in 44 a.C., he was taken prisoner by
Herodes Agrippa and tortured to death. The king forbid to bury him, but in the night Jacob's disciples stole the body and brought him, in a sarcophagus of marble, on board of a small boat. The current of the sea drove the boat to the Spanish coast, into the port of the Roman province's capital, Iria Flavia. Here the Apostle was buried at a secret place in a wood.

Centuries later, in 813, the hermit
Pelayo listened music in that wood and saw a shining. For this shining the place was called, in Latin, "Campus Stellae",field of the star, name that was lateron turned into Compostela.

Teodomiro, who received notice of that event, instituted an investigation, and so the tomb of the Apostle was discovered. King Alphonse IIdeclared Saint James the patron of his empire and had built a chapel at that place. It is reported that from then on Saint James did several miracles, even that he fought side to side with King Ramiro I in the decisive battle against the Moors.
More and more pilgrims followed the way of Santiago, the
"Way of Saint James", and the original chapel soon became the cathedral of the new settlement, Santiago de Compostela..

In 12
th and 13th century the town had its greatest importance, and Pope Alexander III declared it a Holy Town, like Rome and Jerusalem. Pope Calixto II declared that the pilgrims who went to Santiago in a Holy Year should be free of all their sins. El Año Santo (Holy Year) is celebrated each time when the Apostol's day (July, 25) is a Sunday."Link
Xacobeo the ritual:

"The 2010 Holy Year of St. James holds great significance, as it marks the end of a particularly important cycle, because of the number of people that have made the pilgrimage along the Way of St. James in this period. Due to the leap year effect, the patron saint's day of the Apostle James (25 July) falls on a Sunday every 11, 6, 5, 6 and 11 years. This means that there will not be another Holy Year of St. James until 2021. This Holy Year in a unique occasion to celebrate the fact that the Way is, more than ever, and to quote the words of the 2004 Prince of Asturias Concordia Award winner, a place of pilgrimage and a meeting point for people and civilisations that has become, over the centuries, a symbol of fraternity and a cohesive element for European awareness.

The Council of St. James is celebrating this event with a joint programme of cultural activities held along the Way of St. James. Furthermore, in its plenary session, held on 15 January in Santiago de Compostela, the Council of St. James resolved to have the 2010 Holy Year of St. James declared as an "Event of Exceptional Public Interest" for the purposes of applying tax allowances. Said declaration has been included in the Spanish 2009 General National Budget, with a support programme that runs from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2010."
