Solanas debuty to head 'European CIA'

My hint from exact one month before (June 27, Where is Dr. Strangelove?) was correct:

"French diplomat Patrice Bergamini will head the European Union's intelligence agency, replacing Britain's William Shapcott atop an office observers see as a potential "European CIA," a diplomat said Tuesday.

Bergamini, 40, a specialist in defence and security matters, works in the cabinet of EU chief diplomat Catherine Ashton, who named him to head the Joint Situation Centre, said the diplomat who requested anonymity.

(farmer: Before joining the team last spring of the High Representative of EU for Foreign Affairs, he had long worked with Ashton's predecessor, Javier Solana , where he was deputy director under him, helping him to draft the Security Paper for the EU in 2003)

The agency, known as SitCen, had been headed by Shapcott since it was launched in 2001.

The agency is now part of the European External Action Service, the 27-nation bloc's diplomatic corps headed by Ashton which was formally launched on Monday.

SitCen began as a platform for several EU members, including Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, to exchange sensitive information.

Its activities expanded to include terrorism analysis in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

The pro-transparency group Open Europe, a non-governmental organisation, has described the agency as the seed of Europe's agency modelled after the United States' CIA.

But SitCen has a staff of only 100 people.

It does not collect information, a task still in the hands of national intelligence services. Its mission mainly consists of analysis of sensitive information that EU member states are willing to share".

Solana returning?

today, 27.07. in a Romanian newspaper:
"Solana nostalgia
Several European capitals believe that
Solana's mandate would be extended by six months, for Ashton to have more time for finalizing the details EEAS, comments the daily "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung."

Now I found the original from FAZ:

"In mancher Hauptstadt sagt man, es wäre wohl besser gewesen, wenn sie ihren Vorgänger Solana noch für ein halbes Jahr mit dem Führen der Alltagsgeschäfte betraut hätte, während sie sich um den Aufbau des Dienstes zu kümmern hatte. Aber Frau Ashton hat kein enges Verhältnis zu Solana, so wie sie überhaupt wenige politische Freunde in Brüssel zu haben scheint."

It says: "In some of the capital is said, it would have been better if her predecessor Solana would have been charged for another half year with the running of everyday business, while she had to take care of the development of the service. But Mrs. Ashton has no close relationship to Solana, as she seems to have few political friends in Brussels anyway."

(Many lost their) Life in a Day: July 24

above (left): Police-Boss of Duisburg: Detlef von Schmeling, (right): Love Parade Organisator: Rainer Schaller, July 25,
middle: Ed Harris as "Christof", the DIRECTOR OF THE EVENTS in "Truman Show", shown in German main TV Sat1 on July 25., below: like in the first row, the DIRECTORS OF THE EVENTS today.

Not just this strange ressamblance here to the TRUMAN SHOW (1998), which was shown today(!) at German TV. A film were the world watches what happened with a character (Jim Carrey) who thinks his life is real, but in reality his world has just one exit, as it happens all in the studio of a famous film director. The day of the deadly scandal in Duisburg, were 20 young raver lost their lives was 2010 July 24: The exact same day was chosen by Ridley Scott for his new film "Life in a Day" in order to get little films about the "real lifes" of everybody around the globe. "Life In A Day is a historic global experiment to create the world's largest user-generated feature film: a documentary, shot in a single day, by you. On July 24, you have 24 hours to capture a glimpse of your life on camera. The most compelling and distinctive footage will be edited into an experimental documentary film, executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald" Link
Ridley Scott is an expert in mass-controlling. His film Gladiator was also shown in German TV about 2 weeks ago and told about bloodlust, feasts for the masses and a coming hero to save the (Roman) world. See also the book "Gladiator - witchcraft, propaganda, and the rise of a world hero" from John D. Christian. In this book it is also shown how much certain days play a role in staging mass catastrophes.("At my signal unleash hell") In the film the parole is given out "stay together, together we can beat them, alone we die". In "Truman show" an EXIT to the city shows the latin writing "One for all - all for one".

In the film "Gladiator", Maximus says: "I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light." Answer of Marcus Aurelius: "Yet you have never been there. You have not seen what it has become. I am dying, Maximus. When a man sees his end... " At the End of "Truman Show", the Director says: "Need more light". (Like Goethe before he died).
Light at the end of the tunnel?

Also on July 24, German main TV station RTL gave the film "28 weeks later": Apocalyptical chaos and bloodlust.
Twenty-eight days pass. Calls for help and screams can be heard over the radio of Flynn's now abandoned helicopter. A swarm of infected are shown sprinting through a subway exit. As they run into the open, the Eiffel Tower comes into view, revealing that the Rage virus has spread to France. Today July 25 another global TV event, the Tour de France 2010 saw its great finale near Eiffel Tower Paris.

There had been massive warning before the whole LOVE PARADE event, that this must end in chaos, see here: Link
Now, nobody wants to take responsibility: "they have become "victims of the material interests" criticized the (police workers) union. The city of Duisburg at the planning of the Love Parade has been cornered so much from the organizers that despite its "insistent warnings from the security area" was only "able to say yes." Link Who was the director here, allowing over 1 Mio people in a place for just some hundred thousand with one tunnel exit? Was it a "global experiment"?

Years before I have met personally with Dr. Motte, original founder of the Love Parade. He said already then to me, it's no grass movement anymore, it's just about money. Today he acccused the organisators with the same words: it's greed just for money.Link July 25 is "St. James"-Day - a sacrifice ritual day for the illuminati. The "accident" happened just hours before.

My condolences go to the victims of this tragic day.

the storm continues...

2010.07.18: Lavanguardia:
"Javier Solana is worried of the overall situation in the world that the current storm of the economic crisis is not sinking: "We're still in a delicate transition phase. The problem now arises in the G-20 is the way forward in building instruments of global governance. The economic storm lost strength but has not abated, there is still much to do. "Link

This is direct related to his February 22 speech on "EU as a laboratory for global governance". Then he had used the same words:
"In today's world we must be careful in the world in which we have already entered, as I said multipolar, have the capacity, political will, to generate power tools on Global Governance, which will be absolutely essential to have a peaceful world. We have taken the first step in building another G, the G20 has the potential to provide solutions to economic and financial problems in which we are, but it is unclear who has the ability to solve other problems, for example, the problems of global security, therefore we are still in a transitional phase very delicate, very delicate. Europe's role is crucial, Europe can and must be, if I use that term, a "laboratory of what might be a world government system." Link

I have written and now uploaded a document on the whole background here. You can access my latest paper "Communicating Crisis and Global Governance" for free here: Link

myth manufactured

"Microcredit discredited

Farooque Chowdhury: "Micro Credits - Manufactured Myth". Publisher Shrabon Prokashani

By Gerhard Klas

Bangladesh is the home of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. Yunus is the founder of Grameen Bank. A bank which grants loans to small traders, which nowhere else would get a loan. Now - just in Bangladesh - a book published, which criticized the extension of micro credit.

Group picture with women dressed in colorful saris, happy smile, as these pictures adorn the promotional material for countless non-governmental micro-credit and investment funds around the world. There are 30 million borrowers in Bangladesh alone. This is one fifth of the population of poverty, illiteracy and natural disasters plagued the country. Nowhere in the world, micro-credit so widespread. Supposedly, they help women to escape poverty. Not true, says Farooque Chowdhury, editor of the book, "Microcredit - a constructed myth."

"The true facts about the micro-loans are usually not reported. They should, however."

In the book are political scientists, sociologists, economists, feminists and development experts to speak, most of them from Bangladesh. One of the problems that they outline, is the indebtedness. This is confirmed by the national regulatory authority for micro-credit, which was established in 2006 in Dhaka: More than 70 percent of borrowers are now at more than one institution in debt. Farooque Chowdhury describes numerous instances in which the small, micro-credit established with the service does not yield the expected proceeds. Or unforeseen events - such as accidents, diseases, natural disasters or deaths - those which borrowers it to pay off their weekly rates.

"The burden of micro-credit will be for the borrowers get bigger and bigger, they end up in the micro-credit trap. They begin with a loan. But then they take on more loans from other organizations. With the new loans they are trying each case, to pay off old debts. This is how the cycle. "

The debtors sell eventually lend their property, or dispose of their small estates. The power of money-lenders should not be underestimated, so Farooqee Chowdhury.

"This means not only a financial trap, but there is this also a psychological component. A debtor is submissive to the creditor. The book describes through examples how the debtors are patronized by the lenders. The creditors control the lives of debtors whose life revolves completely around the credit. "

The consequences are devastating: Indebted parents send their children to school instead of field work, whole families to flee because of the debt pressure from their villages - that is exactly the opposite of every so-called development-policy objectives. Some borrowers, they say, bring himself to despair. Of course, it is difficult to identify the reasons for a suicide doubt if there is no suicide note. This is in Bangladesh is almost never the case because most can not read and write. The cases researched in the book are based therefore on the testimony of relatives, neighbors and friends. What is a burden to many, is for others a business, the political scientist Farooquee Chowdhury:

"This book is also about how micro loans have opened up a new capital market. For a long time that the rate of profit, and capital is looking for new, lucrative markets. Microcredit is one such, promising market: low attendance, but safe profits. Even calculate the large banks, as they can conquer this market. The micro-loans have many aspects. Even the social should not be ignored: With their help, the poor are kept quiet and secure the social status quo. At the same time this promising market value produced on their back and spreads all over the world. "

Farooque Chowdhury presented with "micro loans - a constructed myth," a book that confirms the doubts of all those who have distrusted the mantra of the micro-credit as a tool against poverty ever. A long overdue debate - even in this country, where pictures of happy smiling South-Asian women in colorful saris and a Nobel Prize Title sufficient micro-loans to be regarded as an appropriate means of fighting poverty.

Farooque Chowdhury: "Micro Credits - Manufactured Myth". The book is published by Shrabon Prokashani, has 266 pages and costs about 25 €, ISBN: 984-70088-0003-1."Link

"Emblazoned across the Times is the headline:

‘Europe warns Obama: this relationship isn’t working.’

The piece is teeming with quotations from diplomats and representatives of major European governments, voicing their concern that post-Cold War America no longer offers Europe a privileged relationship. The goodwill that Europe offered Obama has entirely evaporated.

Few diplomatic spats are ever one-sided, and the Americans are deeply frustrated with the European Union. A White House official condemned the EU’s ‘non-existent foreign policy apparatus’, and Richard Haass of the Council on Foreign Relations said:

‘Europe created these posts (EU President and EU Foreign Minister) to speak for the collective as a whole. But from the perspective of many Americans, rather than building up someone of the stature of [the former Nato Secretary-General] Javier Solana, it looks as though Europe has retreated.’

That should be a warning to all European leaders. The White House wants to see co-ordinated European action on trade, climate change, aid and defence; is uninterested in the talking shop and its ciphers."

another promising birthday tomorrow? Solana praised as "giant", "great among greats"

July 13, Madrid: "The chairman of the committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament, Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar, has advocated today for a (Spanish) unit specializing in political and administrative monitoring of EU affairs, regardless of rank that the Government wants to give.
During a breakfast briefing of the New Economy Forum, which took stock of the half-Spanish EU presidency, Lopez Aguilar has referred to the announcement by the (Spanish) Ministry of Foreign Affairs to abolish the State Secretariat of the EU...
Another aspect that was alarming was the "emerging threat" of all forms of reactionary and regressive populism, the resurgence of nationalism most exalted, xenophobic, and openly anti-European. To address all these weaknesses, Lopez Aguilar has called for "more Europe".
When asked about the future of former foreign head of the EU, Javier Solana, Lopez Aguilar has been shown to be ensure that one can "expect a lot" of this "great among greats," convinced that we can count on his availability for future responsibilities." Link

In any case, do not think they can complain that the EU has missed Solana, after having had the 'Mr CFSP' for 10 years, and that after another five at the head of NATO. In addition, he has described him as "giant with a firm step" and assured that "he can do more."

"We can expect a lot from him and while on duty, as it is, we can count on his availability for future responsibilities," he added, without specifying whether he was referring to responsibilities at European level." Link

"Solana is one of those Chinese vases, very valuable, but nobody knows what to do with them. "He is a great among greats, a heavyweight, "said Lopez Aguilar...." I think he can give much more of himself and we count on him for future responsibilities. " Link

Meanwhile in the US President Obama makes his name more popular: Spains "Abengoa Solar’s “Solana” project will build a large solar thermal electric power plant near Gila Bend, Arizona, the $1.45 billion in (conditional loan) funding needed for the project making up the larger portion of the $2 billion guaranteed by Federal Recovery funds. The construction of the Solana project will not only create 1600 jobs in Arizona, it will also increase the number of “jobs in communities and states up and down the supply chain,” as at least 70 percent of the components needed to construct the plant will be purchased from manufacturers right here in the U.S.

As the President observed, “this plant will be the first large-scale solar plant in the U.S. to actually store the energy it generates for later use” through solar thermal technology, also known as Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) for the way the solar energy is collected. When completed, on its site 70 miles south of Phoenix, the Gila Bend solar thermal power plant will generate 280 megawatts of power ~ enough to power 70,000 homes." Link, "Abengoa - Solar Power for a Sustainable World"

giants, heavyweights, power stations, megawatts...phoenix rising again?

Jesus Christ explained to his apostles what events would immediately precede his second coming, "It shall be exactly as in the days before Noah entered the ark". Matt 24:38 , Luke 17:27. "In those days giants were in the earth, the men of renown of whom ancient tales are told". Gen 6.
