Judge Baltasar Garzon, an advisor to the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague, today warned of the danger that the crime can take advantage of the globalization of communication technologies for "commitment of crimes via the Internet." Garzon has participated in a conference on Human Rights that was organized by the United Nations in the International Cultural Centre Oscar Niemeyer in Avilés (Asturias, Spain), together with the coordinator of the Electronic Government of the Organization of American States, Miguel Porrua, among others....

At another table organized by the UN in the Niemeyer Center participated Ambassador of Spain and Secretary General of the Aspen Institute Spain, Pablo García Berdoy...Berdoy Garcia expressed his confidence that the Aspen Institute Spain, headed by the former head of European diplomacy Javier Solana, come to some agreement with the Niemeyer Center to conduct some joint action.

The UN held today its inaugural conference in Avilés with its new program of education and culture, "Academic Impact", the first event hosted by the Niemeyer Center." LINK, Link

In December 2007, the centre hosted what it called the C8—a cultural G8—with the London School of Economics and the Aspen Institute in Washington, DC.

The centre has formed an illustrious advisory board, drawing on its connections to the Prince of Asturias Awards. Members include the Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho and British scientist Stephen Hawking, as well as a network of high-profile “ambassadors” including Google’s vice-president Vinton (Vint) Cerf, Sir Norman Foster and Brad Pitt, who visited the centre in August 2009. Back to academic impact (compare also with Solana's speech yesterday at London School of Economics):

"

Our students today are remarkable. They are growing up in an interconnected world where they can instantly link to ideas and individuals around the globe. They are not bothered by differences, in fact they are used to them and they appreciate them. They believe in a better future. They believe the world needs to change, and they believe they can help change it. They have the talent, enthusiasm and energy. All they need is education and opportunity.

Frankly, my generation is not doing too well in the world right now. But hope is not lost and our hope lies with education. As H.G. Wells once wrote, “Human history becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe.” We will win this race. Armed with global education, inspired by networks of compassion and commitment and influenced by programs like the Academic Impact, the next generation will have the opportunity to build a greater future."from :formal launch of Academic Impact NY, text of IAUP President-elect J. Michael Adams' remarks (highlightened parts by farmer)

The New World Order is a book written by H. G. Wells, originally published in January 1940. Wells expressed the idea that a 'new world order' should be formed to unite the nations of the world in order to bring peace and end war. He definded the term "new world order " as a synonym for the establishment of a scientifically-coordinated world state and planned economy. Michael Adams: "We must embrace the role of a world citizen" book: "Coming of Age in a globalized World - the next generation"http://www.nextgenerationbook.com/ (this book explores the impact of globalization and examines the case for world citizenship through global education). "Bucky was a good friend of mine and an important role model. " Adams on Buckminster Fuller.

It comes at no surprise that Adams was a featured speaker at the III.forum of the ALLIANCE OF CIVILIZATIONS in Rio:

"It is ideed up to us, it is up to YOU! Our enemies are ignorance and intolerance. And in the face of these enemies we must continue to believe in each other and the promise of peace…We must believe that education is the path to peace and that our steps together along that path we will build an irrestible force and a new world"

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves". KJV, Mathew 7.

"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear". KJV, Revelation 13
