AoC to crumble like iron and clay?

Al-Nasser urges strengthening Alliance of Civilizations as a global mediation tool

UNITED NATIONS, March 22 -- When Spain's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Gonzalo de Benito came to the UN on Thursday, it was at least in part to cut Spain's commitment to the Alliance of Civilizations. It was a Zapatero initiative; not only is he out of power, the country's finances are in shambles.
Asked about the Alliance of Civilizations, Benito mentioned an Alliance for the Balkans. Based on its coverage of the ongoing race of Serbia versus Lithuania to be the next President of the General Assembly, sources told Inner City Press that Serbia's Vuk Jeremic was in town "using" the Alliance meetings to push his candidacy... link

this comes after:
"Spanish foreign minister: I don’t know what to do with UNAOC" "He recalled his negative stance on the initiative when it was first proposed by Zapatero, the prime minister at the time. The content of the initiative was unclear, he said, adding that it is necessary to discuss whether the alliance is meaningful and whether it is worth continuing to work with it.
He stated that he would make his opinion clearer when he returns to Spain after attending a UN session in the next few weeks. He noted that the Spanish government would reduce its financial contribution to the forum."

Istanbul to host Alliance of Civilizations meeting on May 31
Atalay invited the participants of the UN meeting on Thursday to Istanbul for the May 31 meeting.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay said Thursday that Istanbul would host the Alliance of Civilizations meeting on May 31.

Atalay said that they believed the Alliance of Civilizations project needed to be revitalized.

Speaking at the inauguration of a high level meeting at the United Nations Center in New York, Atalay said that the Istanbul meeting was an indication of Turkey's strong commitment to the Alliance of Civilizations project.

Understanding each other implies co-existence and developing the culture of co-existence, Atalay said.

The Alliance of Civilizations plays a crucial role for better understanding and cultural harmony, Atalay noted.

Following the Istanbul meeting on May 31, a conference would be held on the values supported by the Alliance of Civilizations including justice and peace, Atalay also said.

Atalay invited the participants of the UN meeting on Thursday to Istanbul for the May 31 meeting.

We attach high importance to youth projects. I do hope that the Istanbul meeting would add new momentum to the Alliance of Civilizations project, Atalay also said." link

Farmer Please comment on comments or this seems to be not worthwhile to past a comment. You need to respond as well! Your site is appreciated but unhelpful or at least unsatisfying if comments are ignored.

I SUGGEST THAT THESE TWO ARTICLES AND PODCAST SUGGEST THAT JS MAY BE COMMENTING ON EVENTS THAT MAY REPRESENT THE UPROOTING OF GREECE AND THEN ITALY WITH GERMANY TO FOLLOW IF MERKEL IS REPLACED.

Dear Anonymous - Your comments are absolutely welcome! Please do not feel unread - I am sure comments get read, also without me commenting, thanks so much for those! Yes, I also looked them up, and they are important I think. Still once in a while I hesitate to post some news, without obvious reason - something I did so from the beginning, also I very rarely feel led to comment, most of the time it is not a logical thing to do (or not to do), but I trust the way of the blog highly to the Lord, which sometimes may look strange, please don't mind. farmer
